The Inspiration mine located in the Morenci (near Globe Arizona) area produced probably the beet quality Gem Silica that has ever been found. The color(s) range from a blue to blue green to a green (which in my experience is pretty rare, as most of the material was in the blue range). This material is silicated with Quartz and has basically the same cutting characteristics. Most of this material was mined in the late 60's maybe early 70's and there really has been none found since then.
